The moon as it was on the night you are marking - this year's, or the first one. Because it changes with the date, the same piece bought on the same anniversary every year is never twice the same, which is a quieter way of counting than a number on a coin. Add a recorded message and whoever opens it hears it in your voice, which for this occasion is usually the part that matters.
